Admittedly, I am not very familiar with Bansky’s work, as it seems to be more so political than focused on the actual artistic technique or simple beauty of image, but I agree with the sentiment behind this quote. Furthermore, I understand it, being a luckless artist myself–why be miserable hoping some rich person comes along and buys your work when you can apply your talents to a day-to-day job. It may be trading passion for stability, but it is surviving…and at the end of the day, no one cares if another introvert artist slips into the permanent night.
